Riding Lessons
Eye for Equine offers private riding lessons for beginner and intermediate riders, with instruction tailored to
horse-and-rider partnerships. Lessons are primarily offered on rider-owned or leased horses, allowing each rider to progress thoughtfully alongside a horse they know and work with consistently.

Limited availability may be offered for one to two students on a lesson horse. This option is intentionally small, as riders tend to gain the most when progressing at a pace that supports understanding, confidence, and correct fundamentals. Slow progress does not reflect a lack of ability — in many cases, repetition and patience create stronger, more confident riders over time.
A Thoughtful
Approach to Instruction
When a rider begins lessons, the focus is placed on building confidence, comfort, and understanding for both the rider and their horse. I pay close attention to how each horse and rider is showing up that day and adjust the session to support learning in a way that feels manageable and productive. Lessons may include mounted work, groundwork, or smaller focused sections depending on what best supports the rider’s goals and the horse’s needs.

Each lesson is built around consistency, understanding, and feel. Progress comes from reinforcing clear communication and correct patterns rather than rushing through exercises. Instruction is adaptable and supportive, helping riders develop awareness of their position, balance, and aids while creating a learning environment where both horse and rider can progress with confidence.
What Lessons May Look Like
Lessons are shaped to both rider and horse. While structure provides clarity, sessions are adapted to support learning, confidence, and engagement. Exercises are thoughtfully designed to encourage understanding and enjoyment while maintaining safety, clear communication, and strong fundamentals.

What to Expect
Lessons are typically scheduled for one hour. When appropriate and when the rider is able to continue, sessions may occasionally extend up to an additional 30 minutes to thoughtfully complete an exercise, allow a horse to settle, or make small adjustments that support a positive finish.

Riders are guaranteed a one hour lesson. Riders who own their horse and feel comfortable doing so are encouraged to arrive early and be ready to begin on time, as preparation can affect available riding time.
Teaching is something I genuinely enjoy, and instruction is guided by a horse-first approach that prioritizes understanding, feel, and steady progress over rushed results.
